Use efficiency wisely
health, exploitation, body, efficiency
A good article chez De Correspondent (in Dutch) on the quantified self, mindfulness, knowing your body, tricking your body, etc. The writer makes a good point: many seem to use their newfound increased effiency (less sleep, better rested, better condition) to exploit their body even further. Perhaps that is missing the point: is the only possible purpose of increased efficiency really only working more, running further, lifting harder? Perhaps it is a symptom of the times to see even our own bodies as a resource waiting to be exploited and be put to use.
Chill out guys.
