Think less, think better

An article about an article on the disciplined mind: here. By controlling the wandering mind, reducing “mental load”, your mind is more creative. The shopping list is a great example of something I have discovered on my own: writing it down on a list makes me much more able to concentrate on other things (I don’t have to remember it anymore). Doing my PhD has made me develop a particular habit: using lists for nearly everything. A practical git command? Into the git-file you go! What must I do for my next paper? I keep track in phd-file. Developping the habit to write things down, to reread them and to delete older entries that you simply have never gotten round to makes it work pretty well for me, by which I mean I am more organized and my mind is free to, you know, work!
