The New York Times elaborates on a current pattern in internet advertising: advertisements disguised as news, linked as ‘other stories’ on pages that themselves tend to be actual content. I first noticed these at RPS, but indeed, they feature heavily on less niche sites as well. Fortunately I have an innate suspicion for titles like “10 things you didn’t know”, but know we have science to prove these are bullshit.
